Dear friends, playing at the TX Hill Country Olive Festival was a BLAST and we want to thank wholeheartedly our old and new friends from Austin for giving us this extraordinary opportunity to play at the festival. Now that we're back in good old Ohio, we've set about finally releasing this album we've been talking about for months now. Our full-length LP titled Radio Wires will be out in both the digital and physical world late this summer. Until then, you can enter your dropcard code on the downloads page to redeem three songs for free. We hope you all enjoy what we've created. It's been a crazy few months but we are so pleased with what have done and we couldn't have done it without our incredible fans who inspire us every day!

Off to Austin!

04/04/2013

We are so excited to be traveling to Dripping Springs, Texas, to be playing The Texas Hill Country Olive Festival and seeing the sights of Austin, where we've never been before! This marks the first of our national tour dates, which we hope to extend after the release of our upcoming album, Y.

We have new features added to our website - on the right you will find a form to sign up to our mailing list. Also, if you sign up to our mailing list at a LIVE show, you will be given a dropcard that you can use to download three free songs off of our new album! Check out the "downloads" page for more info.

We've also got plenty of local shows in the coming month so head over to the "tour" page to see those dates.

We. Are. Excited.

Hello all!
It has been quite an exciting past few weeks for us. Our trip to Nashville to record was a definite success, and we are currently in the stages of mixing the album. We are all very proud of the material we have created and we can't wait to show it off to all of our fans. We also had a photoshoot to promote our new album with the wonderful Brian Glass a few weeks ago, and we are in love with the results! You can find the photos on Facebook as well as the 'photos' page on this site.
In other exciting news, it is official: we are traveling to Austin, Texas the weekend of April 6th to play in the first annual Texas Hill Country Olive Festival! We are so excited to play this event. We also are happy to announce that we are playing at Canal Street Tavern on March 15, as we open up for Broken Lights at their CD Release Party. We are also set to play a show with the wonderfully talented Bethesda at South Park Tavern on April 12. A week later on April 19, we are playing a benefit show for the Leukemia Lymphoma Society at Jimmie's Ladder 11 in Dayton. This is going to be a great night full of great music for a great cause!
As for our upcoming album... stay tuned! ;)

Hellllloooo everybody and Happy New year!! It's been quite an exciting past couple of months for us for multiple reasons. 1) We got to play several unexpected shows in the midst of our writing break, all of which were great. 2) We've been working extremely hard and we've just about finished up the writing project for our upcoming full-length album! and 3) We are headed down to Nashville on the 17th to record with the incredibly talented Patrick Himes at Reel Love Recording Co. We also are looking into getting some new merchandise and setting up a few contests in the future to win all sorts of goodies. :) That's all for now, but keep checking our Facebook and Twitter (icons in the upper righthand corner of this page) as well as this website for more in-depth updates!! We love you all and wish you the very best for the upcoming year. :)

Writing Break

10/24/2012

As the dormant season of winter approaches, we too are slowing things down to get some writing done! We've got lots of new songs on the way to finish up our new full-length album... So just be patient and before you know it we'll be out playing shows again! If everything goes as planned, we should be recording by January and have the album out not long after that! We are very excited about these batch of songs and we can't wait to share them with you all. Thanks again for all of your continued support. We'll be back soon!!

Love,
Good English.

Wow, you guys! We are just speechless over what a great weekend it has been. The Downtown Dayton Revival Music Festival was so amazing. We are so happy and grateful to have been a part of the festival. We want to thank everyone who came out and supported us on Sunday but especially everyone who came out and supported Dayton!! These past two days in the city were absolutely beautiful with great weather and wonderful people. We hope to go again next year and the year after that and continue to do all that we can to support this magnificent city! Well, as you can see, we are ecstatic over the success of the weekend but now it's time to get back to reality.... math homework anybody? Ugh.

See y'all around. :)

September!

09/03/2012

Hi guys! It's been quite a busy month for the members of Good English. We've been gearing up for the Downtown Dayton Revival Music Fest as well as playing shows around the area and performing on Juliet Fromholt's show, Kaleidoscope, on 91.3 WYSO. We're still waiting for the interview to be posted on their website in case you missed it, but it should be up soon! You can keep checking here like we will be doing. :)

In terms of the DDR Music Fest, we'll be playing a solid thirty-minute set, debuting some new songs as well as playing our oldies! You won't want to miss this sneak peek as we work on putting together a new LP to be released later this year...! There's only about a week left to purchase your tickets so make sure to do so and have the opportunity to see amazing local artists as well as headliners John Legend and Train! We can't wait to see y'all there!

Last thing: we had a fantastic photoshoot about a week ago with the incredibly talented photographer Steve Otto (check out his work here) and we will have the finished product very very soon! We will post them here as soon as we can! Yay! In the mean time, here's a picture of us goofing off during our Kaleidoscope show.

Hello again, dear friends! As you all know, Elizabeth is home early from Kosovo... But do you know what that means?! New music! New music! Lots of writing has been going on over the past few weeks and we are very excited to share it with you... Therefore we've got two shows coming up this August planned so far. On Saturday, August 18th at South Park Tavern, you can catch us with Nashville rockers Kink Ador. Then a week later on Saturday, August 25th, we are set to play Canal Street Tavern with Artist's Playlist, as they do their rendition of REM's "Document". For all the REM fans out there, you don't want to miss this! It should be a fantastic night.

Also, if you don't know already, the Downtown Dayton Revival Fest has released the schedule for September 8 and 9. We are set to kick off the day at 12:15pm on Sunday, the 9th. To purchase tickets, check out the full lineup and schedule, etc. go check out their website

Well that's all the updates for now. We hope you all are having a fantastic summer! It's almost over so make sure to come celebrate the summer's end with us at one or both of our shows in the next few weeks. We'd love to see you all!!

Well folks, it's been a fun few weeks. We had a blast playing at South Park Tavern with Giant Steps and Shivering Timbers. And boy was it hot Sunday afternoon at The Greene but it was a great show for a great cause! Elizabeth is off to Kosovo Monday morning bright and early, and we will miss her dearly! We will be back in action on August 7th though! Then the real fun begins as we approach the Dayton Downtown Revival Music Festival in September. So goodbye for now, friends! Be sure to check back here occasionally for updates! We love you!!!
                                                                                    xoxoxo Good English

Haalllooo everybody! We have some very exciting things to report! First of all, we are so happy to announce that fellow Oakwoodian Jonathan Seidl will be joining Good English as our lead guitarist! He's a super cool dude and we're so excited to get things going together. Which leads us to the next point... We've got two shows we're playing before Elizabeth leaves for Kosovo. Those include Saturday, June 9 at South Park Tavern and Sunday, June 10 at The Greene. We will be playing with Shivering Timbers and Giant Steps at South Park Tavern. As for the Greene show, we will be joining a multitude of local bands as part of a benefit show. We hope to see you all there!

Lastly, we have BIG NEWS, people! We are so insanely excited to announce that we will be playing the Downtown Revival Music Festival this coming fall. We are set to play on Sunday, September 9, among the likes of John Legend, Train, Guided By Voices, Rusted Root, and The Heartless Bastards! It should be an amazing time and we could not be more excited about it.

So that's it for now, folks. We'll be sure to keep you posted on further activity.

¡Adios!
